The luxury pedigree that Regent Seven Seas welcomed with Seven Seas Explorer in 2016 continued with sister ship Seven Seas Splendor in 2020, but the third and final sister Seven Seas Grandeur offers up the best of class. The onboard spa is the place to go when you need some pampering; treatments include manicure and pedicures, acupuncture, facials, skin care services, and massages. You can also work out in the gym solo or take a group fitness class like Pilates. The spacious cabins are all ocean-facing, with balconies, and the ship carries a large number of even bigger (and very popular) premium suites. In warm weather, the action moves to the lido deck (Deck 11), home to the pool, a grill, a bar and the La Veranda buffet restaurant.
As you continue to sail with Regent, you'll move from Bronze, to Silver, all the way up to Titanium status, with increasing benefits as you go. Of course, there's always the pool deck, where you can take a dip, soak up the sun on a lounge chair, or jog around the track for a bit of exercise. The deck is also home to a golf driving net, table tennis, and shuffleboard, plus a warm whirlpool to relax in any time of day.

Nearly everything on the ship is included in the cruise fare, including dining at nine onboard restaurants. While not strictly an adults-only cruise line, Regent cruises are best for adults traveling without small children. The Club Mariner children’s program (for ages 5-17) is available on select sailings, but with many adult-focused spaces and entertainment, this ship is better suited for travelers without little ones. La Veranda is the ship’s main buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch; during our sailing, we enjoyed sushi, lobster, paella, salads, and a very delicious cronut during casual meals here. In the evening, La Veranda becomes Sette Mari at La Veranda, a table-service restaurant serving Italian food.

It’s part of a 1,600-piece art collection that includes classic black-and-white photos from global destinations adorning the hallways between cabins to the steakhouse’s original Picassos. Travelers could spend a good afternoon wandering hallways and public spaces, akin to visiting a museum. There’s also an outdoor relaxation area with three whirlpools looking back over water; this was one of my favorite places to spend time admiring the ocean during our three-night cruise.
One big difference, though, is that these three older ships don't have the truly giant suites found on the Explorer Class ships. The biggest suites on all three of the vessels are in the 1,000-square-foot to 1,200-square-foot range. Among other luxury touches, every cabin on every Regent ship is a suite, and the number of restaurants, bars and lounges is impressive for vessels of this size. Still, while the ships are smaller than what you'll find at a mass-market line, they're not cramped.
Starting at the top on Deck 12, a bocce court, pickleball court, shuffleboard, a golf net, and a putting green with holes inspired by famous golf courses around the world offer fun ways to soak in the ocean views on a sea day. The Observation Lounge, Card Room, Connoisseur Club, and Library (with countless travel books stocked so you can read all about your next destination) on Deck 11 are cozy spots to unwind. As is often the case in the luxury cruise market, every cabin on these ships is a suite with a balcony (something that is also true for two of the line's three older ships).
While cruises are often about the ports of call, the Seven Seas Grandeur — sibling ship to RSSC's Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor, is a destination in itself. In fact, although my mom and I were tempted by the unlimited included shore excursions at our port in the Bahamas, we opted to stay on board to experience every amenity the ship had to offer. The pinnacle of sailing options is the 4,443-square-foot Regent Suite at $11,000 a night. It features a $200,000 Hästens Vividus custom handmade mattress, an in-suite spa retreat with a personal sauna and steam room and 270-degree views from the ship’s bow from a 1,292-square-foot wraparound veranda. Those passengers get their own butler and personal car and driver in every port.

The three ships in the simply named Small Cruise Ship Class are considerably older than the line's Explorer Class ships and aren't quite as big — or opulent — as their sisters. In an effort to improve passenger flow, for instance, Regent turned around the grand staircase in the central atrium on Seven Seas Splendor as compared to how it was laid out on Seven Seas Explorer. A major focal point of the vessel's interior, the staircase now cascades down from the public areas on Deck 5 toward the magnificent, marble-floored promenade on Deck 4.
